Richard Wheeler Associates recently celebrated its 25th anniversary as a leading Search and Selection consultancy based in the Thames Valley. Our core recruitment has been for clients located in the Home Counties, Greater London and along the M3/M4 corridor, though we have also frequently partnered with US companies seeking their first move into EU/EMEA markets.
We would like to thank all of our clients, from pioneering IT startups, high-tech multi-national companies and CleanTech businesses, as well as all of the candidates that have worked with us over the years to make this possible. Along the way we have help build software companies from the ground up and placed top flight, multi skilled IT and software design specialists with skills across Java, C++, embedded ‘C’, SQL databases, Android, Linux, .Net etc. It has been particularly gratifying to see people’s careers evolve and where these talented engineers are today; many are founders of their own businesses, others holding down weighty senior management positions with world beating software start-ups or ‘name’, best-of-class IT organisations.
Founded by Richard Wheeler in the autumn of 1987 in Hungerford, Berkshire, RWA has delivered search and selection expertise at the highest level, partnering with world class IT companies including McAfee, Avaya, Clearswift, Sun Microsystems, BT, Oracle-Secerno, Superscape/GluMobile and PassivSystems to name but a few. We have successfully recruited hundreds of key ‘business critical’ technical staff into roles such as Software Engineer, CTO, Java Developer, System Architect, Clean energy and Renewables specialist, Technical Consultant, Principal Software Designer, QA/Test Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer, Android Developer, Algorithm Developer and Mobile Software Engineer to name but some of the most common. Our methods continue to include headhunting, the internet, our far reaching industry contact network, social media, radio, printed media….whatever is deemed most appropriate.
Richard has seen a huge change in recruitment over the last 25 years. In the late 1980’s most IT candidates read weekly IT printed magazines, CV’s were sent in the post or faxed and networking was face-to-face or over the phone. Today, RWA uses a wide range of technology in a massively more complex, sophisticated and fast moving environment eg. Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, Skype etc to successfully recruit the top talent for leading edge technology positions.
